I was happy to discover that the fabric came hemmed. It is good for what we bought it for, but the smell at first was overwhelming. It isn't a "natural" smell as they claim, but a strong kerosene like scent. I washed it in the tub with dr bronners and lots of rinsing, hung till damp, ironed the wrinkles out then hung it to dry. A week later it has faded a little bit not much
