Whether you’ve been planning to celebrate any toast-worthy event or you are just looking for an excuse to enjoy the warm sunshine while you can, take the party to your backyard to double the fun. Although backyard parties are known to be laid-back and casual, we think there is no reason that you can’t spruce up your backyard party decorations and turn it into a sophisticated and posh affair with some simple little refined touches. That being set, a beautifully decorated space and a lovely tablescape with a drinks station on the side can really set the ambiance for an elegant summer backyard bash. Ceiling Decor
Since we wanted to host a backyard party during the day to bask in the summer sun while we still had the chance, we chose to set up our dining table and drinks station under a roofed patio in case the blazing sun heat became too much to handle. Thus, when it came to decorating our space, we decided to kick things off by creatively decorating the ceiling to elevate our aesthetics to a whole new level. Because our surroundings exuded a refreshing aura with the lush green grass and backyard trees, we didn’t look any further than our artificial flower and foliage garlands to elegantly bedeck the wooden beams. With one beam embellished with willow and frond leaf garlands and cream-colored silk peony garlands embracing the other one, we also suspended a few teardrop shaped terrariums in varying heights and filled them with preserved moss, assorted fake succulents, and pine cones which imbued a luxuriant flair into our roofed outdoor space. In order to brighten things up after the sun went down, we also hung bulb string lights all over the place for chic and radiant allure.
Wall Backdrop
Because we wanted to allocate a spot for our drinks station by the wall, decorating the background wall to give it a peppy charm made sense. But since we weren’t looking for something elaborate and wanted just a simple backdrop to add visual interest, we arranged a string of white round balloons in varying sizes in between our champagne bottle and goblet balloons which perfectly emulated the foamy bubbles oozing from the champagne bottle.
Table Linens
Once we were done with our wall backdrop and ceiling decorations, we moved on to setting up the tables. As we were aiming to impart a posh appeal, we pulled out our glossy teal-colored satin tablecloth and paired it with sparkling silver sequin table runners creating a sumptuous table base. The versatile teal color added a classy touch to our tablescape while the sequin table runners which were styled in a crisscross pattern accentuated the glitz and glam tenfold. However, for the drinks table, we decided to diversify our color palette a bit, thus, we simply draped a gorgeous blush-colored tablecloth with big Payette sequins that perfectly balanced out the rich hues of our dining table linens.
Place Settings
Next on the agenda were the place settings. Because we were going for a refined appeal, we decided to stay clear of those not so sturdy paper plates and instead opted for gold-rimmed white square disposable plates from our immense range of disposable designer dinnerware and paired them with fancy gold beaded round charger plates. The square shaped white plates featuring a lovely gold diamond design when placed over the round chargers imparted an elegant look to our backyard party table settings not to mention the convenience of disposability which made cleaning after the event a breeze. With the modish geometric decorations we had in mind for our tablescape, we topped our dinner plates with geometric patterned paper napkins for a stylish sophisticated charm.
Centerpiece Decorations
Considering the bold place settings and vibrant table base, we decided to use sleek centerpiece decorations to avoid making our table decor overly chaotic. Thus, we have overlooked ornate flower vases and positioned our conjoined geometric metal flower vase racks to add a modish allure to our tablescape. With the intricately conjoined wire structure, our geometric centerpiece looked even more stunning when we popped in some artificial tall white and purple calla lilies, lavender-hued flowers, and faux foliage stems in the clear glass tube holders stylishly nestled in the center to create a gorgeous floral masterpiece.
Although our floral centerpiece looked truly sensational, the tablescape lacked radiance. In order to ooze a soft and soothing glow, we didn’t look any further than our geometric candle holders. However, we just couldn’t choose any one, so we aligned a variety of different gold geometric holders on both sides of our main centerpiece for a striking yet cohesive look.
Chair Decorations
While our tablescape was all set with lovely decorations, our chairs looked plain and boring. So we decided to gracefully bedeck our chair backs using ice blue chiffon chair sashes and succulent plants for a charming appeal. The subtle hued chair sashes and the succulents ushered in the sensational summery feel which has perfectly capped off our end of summer backyard party decorations.
