Linens
Since Christmas is a holiday steeped in tradition, choosing a color palette that heavily features the classic colors was definitely our preference. Because nothing says Christmas celebrations like red and green hues dominating the color palette, don’t you agree? However, when it comes to adding a unique twist to your holiday decorations, we think there is plenty of room to play around with different shades of red and green and even add a few splashes of unconventional hues into the mix, as long as you manage to invoke the festive Christmassy feel. Thus, instead of using those exuberant tones in our Christmas table decorations, we leaned towards their duskier shades and incorporated some moody and metallic hues creating a color story that is elegant, dramatic, and downright festive. Hence, we’ve opted for a gorgeous hunter green satin tablecloth to give a flawless drape to our Christmas table. The lustrous allure of satin coupled with the mesmeric hue and seamless finish, our table base exuded a classy flair as we had never seen before.
Table Settings
Once the foundation for our Christmas tablescape was laid out, it was time to move onto the place settings. Because we wanted to invoke glamour and drama into our table setup, we decided to go a little rogue with our table arrangement. And to our surprise, everything worked out beautifully. Setting the stage with black and gold scalloped rimmed charger plates sitting on top of burgundy velvet napkins that elegantly draped down the table, our Christmas table setting was the perfect fusion of class and extravagance. Moreover, we’ve also paired the chargers with our white dinner plates, gold cutlery set, gold glittered flutes and gilded cups. While the red and gold vine rims of the dinner plates reinforced the festive appeal into our setup, the metallic glints of gold brought enticing shimmer and sparkle.
Tabletop Decorations
As soon as we were done with our place settings, the tabletop decorations were next on the agenda. Because we were pulling out all the stops for our Christmas dining table decor, we decided to go all out with natural and seasonal-inspired decorations to cue in the outdoorsy charm. To be honest, we’d been dreaming of a white Christmas all year long, so we had to incorporate that glistening snowy splendor into our decor. Drawing inspiration from the blanket of snow covering the earth’s surface, we aligned some square mirrors side by side along the middle of the table and covered them with a whole lot of fake snow for that authentic snowy look. However, in order to emulate that wintry woodland forest appeal, we creatively arranged our artificial greenery vine garlands and scattered around a mix of natural pine cones, tree barks, and gold glittered twine balls. You can also use cinnamon sticks in place of the tree barks to add that subtle scent of spice infusing yet another seasonal element into your Christmas dinner table decorations.
As far as the table centerpiece was concerned, we wanted something that’ll instantly boost the visual appeal of our Christmas table. So without giving it a second thought, we’ve opted for our majestic black and gold candelabra as the main centerpiece for our tablescape. Featuring a stunning 5 arm construction with a sleek matte black and gold finish, our candelabra centerpiece adorned with crystal chains, red glittered LED tea light candles, and red glass mirrored balls not only accentuated the dramatic allure of our entire set up but also complemented the place settings perfectly.
Although our candelabra centerpiece was meant to be the star of the show, we wanted to add more statement pieces to take our Christmas dinner table decorations to another level. Hence, we’ve introduced our glorious candelabra to our black and gold candle holders for a lovely cohesive flair. Featuring the exact same matte black and gold finish with identical holder style, this pairing was nothing less than a match made in heaven.
With the dark moody tones front and center, our setup needed a fun element to cheer things up. We saw this as an opportunity to put our creative skills on display and crafted a couple of Santa hats using our burgundy and iridescent glitter foam sheets. Moreover, we bedecked them with a bunch of fresh cranberries along with a few green clippings from the backyard and positioned the hats right next to the candle holders for an interesting juxtaposition. In order to tie it all together, we’ve also randomly placed several flickering red glittered LED votive candles all over the tablescape that have added extra oomph to our Christmas dining table decor.
Backdrop Decor
Since our Christmas table was dressed to the nines, setting up an equally festive backdrop for our tablescape made perfect sense. Hence, we’ve draped our plush wine-colored velvet curtains on a heavy duty backdrop stand with twinkling fairy string lights in the middle to create a striking backdrop. But we didn’t just stop there, in order to further elevate our Christmas table set up, we’ve gathered and tied the curtains panels with clear craft wire and embellished them with a burgundy peony flower, champagne silk rose stem and some greenery that gracefully cushioned the blooms.
With striking accents and time-tested red and green hues at its heart, this classic Christmas dining table decor has exceeded all our expectations. Did our table set up inspire you?
